Windows/Web App for Workers

There are many ways to use the OK Alone lone worker solution: app, SMS, landline, satellite phone and desktop. This last one is perhaps the least well known.

For lone workers who work remotely, not necessarily out and about, but based in one location, the desktop version of the Ok Alone system is perfect.

The solution offers desktop check ins and all the same features as the app but is not reliant on a phone battery.

The Desktop version is available both in a browser at https://app.okalone.net/ or is downloadable from the Windows App Store:

Lone workers can open the solution in a separate tab and have it accessible all day from their pc or laptop while they work. When the reminder alert sounds workers can use the desktop check in with minimal disruption to let monitors know they are all right.

Login and Start a Shift

To get started open the app and enter your PIN number.

The web/desktop app is set out the same as the phone app.

Once you click ‘Start Shift’ the screen will show the countdown until the next check in is due. Here you can check in, request help, or end your shift.

Help Request

If you require urgent Help, please press the Help button and then confirm that you need Help on the next screen. Your monitor will be alerted that you are in need.
If there is an accidental push of the Help button the request can be cancelled instead.

If you no longer need assistance after request help, simply push the “I’m Ok” button and your monitor will be alerted that you are now Ok.

Settings

At the top left of the app screen is a sandwich menu (the three white bars). This is where you can access settings, messages, select a high risk countdown, or log out.

High Risk Check In

If you are entering an area of High Risk, please choose a shorter check in time that will cover the duration of time you are in the high risk area.

Whichever time you choose will replace your current check in timer.

Location Settings

You can select your location monitoring level. It is recommended that you always have the location setting set to ‘on’. This will allow your Monitor to see where you are in an emergency.

Alarm Settings

You can also choose the alarm you would like to sound to remind you to check in. To listen to the options, click on the name of the alarm and then ‘play alarm’. To select the one you want, click on the name and then the large orange ‘Save Settings’ button. You will need the devices sound turned on to hear the alarm.

If the missed check in alarm does sound, simply click ‘Check In’.

Send a Message

If you need to send a message through the app to your monitor, select Send Message. On this screen, type out your message and then push ‘Send Message’ to pass the message along to your monitor.

Language Options

Ok Alone is currently available in 3 languages: English, French, and Spanish. Choose your option here if your browser hasn’t already detected a language preference.

Thank you for working with Ok Alone to help you stay safe!
